Two Russian architecture designs in Almaty from the late nineteenth century

The musical instruments museum and the Zenkov Cathedral are built in the same timeframe in 1907–08, during the Russian Tsar period before the Bolshevik revolution and the Soviet era. The museum building was originally used as a meeting place for the governor.
Both have wooden structures. Even so, they are different in style.
I was earlier burnt for assuming that the Greek Parthenon architecture style projected secular liberal values in western civilization. I, therefore, am a lot more cautious in attributing my preconceived ideas to these architectural styles. All I can say is that the Zenkov Cathedral is a Russian Orthodox Christian Cathedral and Russia adopted orthodox Christianity from the Byzantine Orthodox Church. The museum building on the other hand is considered a traditional Russian house design.
